There are many possibilities for how the world will end. Some think it will end with a bang.
I disagree. I strongly believe it will end with a whimper.
It will end that way because everything will just come to a grinding halt. Nothing will get done any more or, at least, it will not be done correctly. My experience over the past week is a prime example of that.
Today, my newspaper carrier delivered the New York Post instead of the New York Daily News. When I call the Daily News I got into an endless loop of voice prompts. I gave up.
Earlier in the week, my building contractor failed to call about repairing my stairs.
My cell phone store never called me about the accessory that I ordered.
My cable company did not return my call about my service problems.
A vendor who wanted my printing business sent me an email with information about their new products, but provided no means for ordering them. It took two emails, because he forgot the attachment in the first one.
So it would seem obvious that the world will end simply because nothing will happen any more.
