Personal Pronouns 3.0

I have written about this topic several times because it is one of my pet peeves. Am I that exceptional that my knowledge of the use of person pronouns is rare?

I have found that a significantly large number of people I hear speaking in public (including newscasters and politicians) do not have a clue about this. Misuse is even more common on TV shows. I don’t think I have ever seen a drama, particularly a crime show, in which there was not at least one faux pas.

The problem is the worst when using multiple pronouns in the same sentence.

Example 1: “Her and I went to the movies” can be found to be incorrect when you say “Her went to the movies” instead of “She went to the movies.”

Example  2: “John gave some money to her and I.” can be found to be incorrect when you say “John gave some money to I.” instead of “John gave some money to me.”

How good is your knowledge?
