Mispronunciation 3.0

It bothers me that most talking heads on the radio and television news mispronounce “anti-Semitic” because they should know better. The root of the word is “Semite” So why do they say “anti-Sim-et-ic”? Is it that hard to say it correctly?

Stanley, I made two comments – on, satiric,e directed at this mispronunciation and the other, definitely not satiric, concerns your intolerance of ignorance. Not sure if either of those comments got through to you. With respect to intolerance, we are all guilty of that with respect to  many things.  (The 6 Berkson siblings notwithstanding)  It is the lack of recognition of one’s ignorance about a subject which bothers me and, I believe, is what truly bothers you. Aside from that, how are you a;l doing?  We are fine, except that I decided to get my annual flu bug a little early this year and have been home for four days – driving Judy crazy. Larry
