Say It The Way They Say It

The name of a place is not always pronounced the way it appears.

Antigua is pronounced An-tee-guh by its residents (not An-tee-gwah)

Arkansas, by state law, must be pronounced Ar-kan-saw

Spokane, Washington, is pronounced Spo-kann

DeKalb, Georgia, is pronounced D’kab

Oregon is pronounced Or-g’n
